FAQ
I’ve lost my Crosby Fax number. What should I do?
When you receive a fax, the email you receive states what your
Crosby Fax number is. Your email will look something like this:
This is a fax message from 0845 200 6822
UniqueID: 44 8454582846
Received : 30.05.2003 16:11:58
Recipient: 08452006000
Your Crosby Fax number is the one quoted after the heading Recipient:
If you cannot find a recent fax sent to you, then please email
the Crosby Fax office on info@crosby.co.uk stating that you
have lost your Crosby Fax number. Please also email us as much
information as possible including which email address you used
the Crosby Fax service with and when your Crosby Fax service
was set up. We will then be able to email back to you your Crosby
Fax number.
What happens if two people are faxing me at the same time? Will
one of them get an engaged tone?
No, your fax to email service should never be engaged. Multiple
faxes can be received simultaneously.
Does my computer have to be switched on in order to receive
my faxes?
No, all your messages will be stored in your email box until
you are ready to download them to your computer.
If I am on a free trial, can I keep the same number once I sign
up for the service?
Yes, you will keep the same number for your service as your
trial (subject to the terms and conditions of the Crosby Fax
service). All customers should check and dial their Crosby Fax
numbers as soon as they receive them to make sure that their
account is activated correctly and that messages are being forwarded
onto the correct email address.
Can your staff read my faxes?
No, our system is completely automated. Once a fax is sent to
you, it is passed by our servers directly to your email address
and then removed from our server. Crosby Fax does not keep any
copies of your faxes.
