1st September, 2007 - Crosby becomes PayForIT compliant

Crosby today announced that all of its systems are ready for use with the new PayForIT mobile payment framework.

PayForIT is a joint initiative – involving all 5 UK networks – aimed at creating an easy and reliable means for mobile phone users to purchase goods and services over the mobile internet.


17th August, 2007 - Crosby Communications celebrates 10 years in business

Crosby Communications is delighted to announce its 10th anniversary.

Founded a decade ago as a specialist communications solutions provider, Crosby continues to excel in the delivery of innovative, tailored communications systems for clients throughout the UK.


23rd July, 2007 - Crosby sponsors Sefton Triathlon

For the third year in succession, Crosby has sponsored the Sefton Triathlon, a sports event run by a local charity in Crosby, Liverpool.

Triathlon is a modern 'lifestyle' sport that can be enjoyed by people of almost any age; the only requirements are that you can run, swim, and ride a bike.


4th July, 2007 - Crosby commits to carbon neutral operations

Crosby today announced that, within 12 months, the company will have reached full carbon neutrality.

Through the introduction of techniques such as virtualisation and consolidation, and by using more efficient equipment and adopting smarter working practices, Crosby aims to have the first carbon neutral data centre in the UK.


15th June, 2007 - Crosby awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification

ISO Crosby Communications, a leading provider of converged communications and I.T. solutions, today announced that the company's quality management system (QMS) has been awarded ISO 9001:2000 accreditation for Sales and Distribution of Digital Media. This recognition follows audits by the World Certification Services in 2007.


4th May, 2007 - Crosby launches international Directory Enquiries service

Following the success of both its national and Liverpool–based Directory Enquiries services, Crosby has today announced a brand new addition to its 118 family.

118 501 is a new international Directory Enquiries service, offering access to phone numbers from over 24 countries around the world.


15th April, 2007 - Crosby product meets new ICSTIS regulations

Following its recent investigation into premium rate audience participation services, phone watchdog ICSTIS has published a set of new regulations for TV Quiz shows, in an attempt to restore viewer confidence. These measures will come into effect on Wednesday 2nd May 2007.

Crosby announced today that its Television Audience Participation System (TAPS) has already been upgraded in accordance with the new ICSTIS standards, and now enables TV companies to automatically generate and display real–time information and statistics relating to a caller's chances of getting through to any stage of a competition.

16th March, 2007 - Crosby provides answer to phone-in fiasco.

Broadcasting companies have recently come under intense scrutiny with regard to their use of premium rate phone lines on some of their most popular programmes, causing the integrity of current audience participation systems to be brought into question.

A high-profile investigation by phone watchdog ICSTIS into the practices of a number of leading television companies has revealed numerous incidents of uncounted phone and text votes, callers being charged for call completion after lines have been closed, and even instances of viewers being urged to enter competitions after the winners had already been decided.

1st February, 2006 - Crosby Blade Servers

Crosby announced today that is has committed to purchasing a number of Blade Servers within its data centre.

Matt Wilson M.D., said, our data centre is now 3 years old, and due to the change in technology once again, we have committed to purchasing a number of Blade servers that will reduce both power, space and cooling requirements, plus directly replace a number of servers now approaching 3 years old.

Crosby were approached by Victim Support for a proposed solution for the new sunrise appeal due to begin Feb 16th. The proposed idea was to allow donations by text message, so anyone, anywhere could make a donation by simply texting into an advertised telephone number and the money raised would go towards the sunrise appeal.

Gas Logic the Certification Gas Training Centre, approached Crosby for an integrated voice and fax solution that would allow completed certification forms and details to be collected automatically by fax. The solution would also allow contact via a national rate number in case some applications do not have a fax machine.

24th Oct, 2003 - Crosby completes deal with Telco Games.

Crosby has signed contracts to work with Telco Games, the leading games industry distributor to provide a delivery platform and statistical package.

Crosby was asked by Telco Games to build a custom delivery platform to allow their content to be delivered to customers phones for Java Games and other mobile content.
The platform installed in Crosby's data centre is linked with Crosby's existing statistical package to produce real-time statistical data for game downloads, popularity and a complete billing system in order to demonstrate to clients the ability to bill to a mobile telephone and have reliable statistics.

The Directors of Crosby were invited onto the Northwest Radio Station Magic1548 live on air for a late night phone in. Matthew and Steven Wilson gave advice to callers regarding network security, viruses and the damages that can be caused to businesses and individuals from them.

Liverpool based Crosby has won a Multi million pound contract to supply London based telecom's company Intelliplus PLC with software and mobile related services. Crosby who tendered for this business along with other southern based but larger businesses were awarded the contract on Friday 25th July 2003.

1st May 2003 - Crosby releases MT billing.

Crosby announced today that they can fully support MT reverse billed premium rate to users handsets across all of the 4 UK networks. Matthew Wilson MD of Crosby explained "MT billing allows content providers to choose not to bill the customer until the content is delivered, this saves time and money for the content/service provider but also protects the consumer from being billed for mistakes that could be made on their account, "I'm pleased to announce that Crosby is the first provider in the UK to offer this service across the 4 networks."

1st April 2003 - MMS capabilities extended.

Crosby have increased their MMS capabilities massively by adding an MMSC to their network today. Crosby have created their own MMSC that operates within their network to deliver pictures, ringtones, photos, and other media directly to mobile handsets. Steven Wilson TD of Crosby says "There has been a lot of pressure on the operators from service providers over the last 12 months to get MMS working, however we still don't see any signs of them opening up their networks to create an MMSC, so simply we built one ourselves".
