Matt Wilson, Managing Director said, we like to get involved
with local businesses and organisations and the Liverpool Film
Festival provides great opportunities for emerging filmmakers
in the Liverpool area. As Crosby work in the media arena, we
believe it is a great opportunity to get involved and sponsor
the festival.
The festival is a distinctive forum that brings together independent
filmmakers, industry professionals, amateurs and enthusiasts
and encourages collaboration, stimulates debate and brings a
wider diversity of film content to local audiences.
About Liverpool Film Festival
The Liverpool Film Festival is a non-profit making organisation
limited by guarantee. It was founded in 2004 and has members
representing independent filmmakers, commercial enterprise,
academic institutions, amateur filmmakers, enthusiasts and community
groups. The main goals and objectives of the Liverpool Film
Festival are: -
· To create an annual forum in which a wide diversity
of local, national and international films of various genres
can be showcased in well-resourced, comfortable and affordable
venues.
· To create a forum that encourages artistic exchange,
discussion and debate around the subject of film art, especially
that of local origin.
· To create a forum that facilitates communication and
partnership between local independent filmmakers, commercial
organisations, academic institutions, amateur filmmakers, enthusiasts,
community groups and the general public.
· To provide opportunities for emerging filmmakers, primarily
from Liverpool and the surrounding areas, to have their work
screened and in doing so create the opportunity of securing
wider recognition, distribution and investment.
· Promote and raise the profile of Liverpool as an area
of creative excellence in film production and related media.
· Attract inward investment by showcasing Liverpool 's
creative talent, skills and locations.
· To enhance local cultural and leisure opportunities
and in doing so bring about a positive impact on the lives of
the people of Liverpool and the surrounding areas.
